BPSD

BPSD is an abbreviation for Behavioral and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia, and refers to abnormal behaviors, emotions, and thoughts exhibited by dementia patients.
Examples include anxiety, agitation, insomnia, hallucinations, auditory hallucinations, and violence. BPSD causes a decrease in the quality of life (QOL) of people with dementia and their caregivers.
